The Alaska Public Employees Association/AFT, a revered institution and the oldest public employee union in Alaska, has endorsed my candidacy for Borough Assembly Seat H.

For those unfamiliar, the Alaska Public Employees Association/AFT, originally formed in 1955 as the Alaska State Employees Association, was established with a primary mission to advocate for state employees, ensuring fair pay and benefits. Their tireless efforts resulted in the passing of the Public Employment Relations Act in 1972 by the Alaska Legislature.

This monumental act granted both state and local government employees the right to organize and form unions, further reinforcing their ability to negotiate wages, hours, and other essential employment terms.

Their endorsement of my campaign is not just a validation of our shared priorities but a testament to our mutual commitment to enhancing the welfare of our public employees, upholding worker rights, and fostering a community where every individual is recognized and respected.
